We publish original fiction and free short-film scripts, built for the reader who wants a story before bed and the filmmaker who needs one before a deadline.
How a story gets made
Every story, poster, and script on this site is written from scratch and reviewed by the studio’s editorial team before it’s published — nothing here is pulled from an existing film, book, or script. Each tale gets a poster, a full text, a downloadable script where it fits the format, and an audio narration.
Why scripts are free
Short-film festivals run on scripts nobody has time to write from scratch. We publish ours without a licensing gate so a small crew, a film student, or a first-time director can pick one up, shoot it, and credit the studio in the titles.
For filmmakers
Submitting to a festival with one of our scripts
Pick a script from the script library, adapt it to your cast and location, and shoot it. Credit “African Story Studio” in your opening or closing titles. If your production is commercial or you’d like a script tailored to a specific brief, runtime, or cast size, reach out before you shoot.
